Suzuki Katana Overview :

The name Katana was earlier used in the production from the year 1981 to 2006. The Suzuki brand will ultimately bring forth this name for its 2019 model. Ignited by the Japanese spirit, Suzuki’s development team tried and tested every subcomponent consistently until and unless they got satisfied that the KATANA will deliver the ideal combination of power, convenience, and control.

Under the hood, the upcoming Suzuki Katana 2019 will retain its appearance but with a different twist. A headlamp section is still the same rectangular unit but now an all-LED. Talking of the rear side, there is a fascinating style factor along with a number plate holder at the rear and turn signals which are mounted as a rear tire hugger. The tail lamp settles on the top at its traditional location at the finishing of the subframe. This, in turn, renders the illusion of ample space between the rear wheel and the seat.

The information will get displayed on an LCD instrument cluster with exclusive graphics along with white lettering on a black background. The upcoming Suzuki Katana 2019 will weigh around 215kg and will be sporting a comparatively smaller 12-liter fuel tank. The dual tone seat present in grey and black renders a sleek and comfortable riding position for the rider. The blackout exhaust system in the bike is a chamber located post the joint section, which is intelligently shaped to accommodate inside the engine. This exhaust system is designed 4-into-2-into-1 pattern which comprises of equalizer pipes between the 1 to 4 and 2 to 3 header pipes in order to well tune the exhaust pressure waves and produce a much powerful low to mid torque output.

The upcoming Suzuki Katana 2019 will host the same 150bhp 999cc four-cylinder motor which will generate a max power of 150bhp at 10,000 rpm and a peak torque of 108Nm at 9500 rpm. Speaking of the transmission, 6-speed transmission along with a slipper clutch will be present.

The upcoming Suzuki Katana 2019 will feature three-level traction control and Bosch Anti-lock Braking System. The traction mode one is meant for sport riding with minimum intervention, whereas mode two provides a perfect balance for usual road conditions and mode three which delivers the highest traction control while riding in tough road conditions. The suspension comprises of inverted forks present in the front and a mono shock absorber evident at the rear which is sourced from Kayaba. The Brembo provides the braking function and Dunlop Roadsport tires display the intentions to be termed as a street bike.

The upcoming Suzuki Katana 2019 will be competing with yet another heritage-inspired Kawasaki Z900RS which also falls under the Japanese street biking DNA.
