India is a land full of colors and happiness as people here are always on with the festivals. When they enjoy the festival you will just see the lights and hues decorating the little states with pride. One out of such festivals is the Janmashtami – Krishna’s Birthday which is celebrated in a magnificent manner at the Vrindavan. It is said that Lord Krishna used to dance with the gopi’s( lady friends) to spend the evening in a pleasant way while he would just play the flute. There are always beautiful stories hidden in the land of India.

Lord Shri Krishna has a very powerful role in the world. He as a lord has taught and is still teaching everyone how to take life in a positive way. The path towards truth and strength is what Lord Krishna teaches people.

Today we are going to take you into a journey of his birth land. The place is named as Vrindavan a place as alluring as it could be with flowers and forests covered around it. It is located at Uttar Pradesh – district Mathura. On this coming August will fall the date of his birthday which is said as Janmashtami or Govinda- Krishna’s Birthday (about which we will talk in the later part of this article).

This place is an amalgamation of varied temples associated with Lord Krishna. The place has its name based on the forests it is covered with. The place itself is a vision and will leave you mesmerized where you will have nothing but all the spirituality and peace surrounded with.

During August of every year, the birthday of Krishna is celebrated with great enthusiasm. There are always colors and beautifully dressed people dancing around chanting the songs of Hare Krishna and Hare Rama which plays an imperative part in Janmashtami- Krishna’s birthday. There are people all over the world celebrating it though.

One of the traditions that the people follow is that there is a curd pot made of clay hung on top of the thread at a good height where the boys are required to build a human tower and then at the top goes the one who will just break it to make the curd pour on all of them. This ritual is known as Dahi Handi which is generally done on the next day of Govinda.
