We are living in a food obsessed society where everyone wants to lose weight without changing their lifestyle. Every day we see a new weight loss diet plan in newspapers and various blogs online promising to shed your extra kilos if you follow them religiously.
But I am very sorry to say that it is not the permanent solution and besides saying this I also promise you that the tips I am going to share with you today will be your long term permanent partners which will keep you fit, healthy and happy forever.
DRINK PLENTY OF WATER :
Many of you have heard that our planet is made up of 70% water and 30% is the rest of the components, same is the ratio in our bodies.
Our body is made up of 70% water and when this natural balance is distorted by human being by not drinking enough water, problems start occurring at physical level.
Various diseases can enter your body if you don’t know how much water to drink, when to drink and how to drink. Drinking enough water helps improving your digestion, boosts your metabolism and release the toxins off your body. You should drink at least 3-4 litres of water a day and 1 litre alone in the morning right after waking up.
According to Ayurveda, a glass of warm water mixed with freshly squeezed lemon in the morning helps in burning belly fat and improves your digestion. The last thing which you need to remember is that you don’t have to drink water just after eating something as if will again cause bloating and the food will not be digested.
EAT THREE PROPER MEALS A DAY :
Most of the health issues of your body are related to your stomach. If the food which you eat is not digested properly , then all your efforts for losing weight will go in vain. Unlike modern diet plans which suggest you to eat 5-6 meals a day to lose fat, we advise you to take 3 meals , but focus on digesting them properly.
Another thing which we have to develop is a routine i.e fixed time for eating our meals. This is only the bad timings which leads us to munch snacks in the mid day.
Here is the time table for your meals:
Healthy breakfast (between 7:30 and 9:00 am), lunch, which is your largest meal (between 11:00 am and 2:00 pm), and dinner, your smallest meal (between 5:30 pm and 8:00 pm). Your dinner should be eaten 2-3 hours before bed.
Lastly chew your food properly as it is responsible for proper digestion of food.
EARLY TO RISE , EARLY TO BED :
Now you all would think what is the relation between waking up early and losing that belly fat. Yes , it has a significant relation. Your sleeping patterns , waking up and sleeping routine tells about the lifestyle you are addicted to. When you wake up late you miss your breakfast as you are always in a hurry to rush to office or delay your breakfast which is the single most reason of fat accumulation in your body.
It takes approximately 3-4 hours to digest the food you eat, when you have your dinner in the late hours like 9 or 10 at night, the time when stomach should actually be resting i.e in the midnight , it is working to digest the food. This is the reason why we wake up feeling tired and this also increases the weight since neither you got proper sleep nor the food got digested properly.
You should take a sound sleep of about 6-7 hours daily. Never depend on an alarm to wake up in the morning. Its a simple logic , when you would sleep on time, you would naturally wake up in the morning. But alarm wakes you up before your own biological clock which is intervening in your natural process.
DEVELOP AN EXERCISE ROUTINE :
Develop a habit of doing exercise daily as soon as the sun rise. These days people prefer going to gyms but I suggest that you should connect your fitness to any physical activity which you find interesting to do.
You can involve yourself in any physical activity like yoga, brisk walking, swimming, martial arts, kickboxing , badminton and so on. The idea is to give your body at least 30 minutes a day in any form so that it burns fat and give you energy throughout the day.
Another habit you should form is to walk 15-20 minutes after your dinner which will not only help you to digest all you have eaten but also let you sleep on time.
MUNCHING THROUGHOUT THE DAY :
I have seen people munching snacks between the meals.
This is a very harmful practice as the human body is not designed to eat anything anytime. There is a proper process for digestion and eating patterns determine a lot about the body shape.
“YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT “
If you are feeling hungry between the meals , don’t starve yourself but remember that you have to replace the food you take as a snack. Generally your snacks between the meals should be easily digestible for example, you can take dry fruits, fruits (according to season), coconut water, lemon juice , sprouts etc.
It is because body has a digesting capacity , if you would consume food every hour or two , the digestive system of your body won’t be able to determine which food to digest first , which in turn will increase your weight and would lead to bloating.
CONCLUSION :
Lastly I would like to suggest that never follow the crash diets and the workout regimes that attract you with tag lines like
“LOSE THOSE LOVE HANDLES IN 7 DAYS”
OR
“FAT LOSS E-BOOK TO REDUCE BELLY FAT IN A FORTNIGHT”
Don’t get trapped in these type of market schemes, certainly you will get results in short term but you would regain the weight after you get back to your old eating patterns. Besides that you would try to bring a drastic change in the diet and workout.
